Studied Art History in Barcelona and has worked as a freelance illustrator since 1982. His work centers on children’s books illustration and cartoons, excelling with acknowledged works such as El vestido nuevo del emperador (‘The Emperor’s New clothes’), awarded National Prize of Illustration by Ministerio de Cultura, Madrid, 1996 and El secuestro de la primavera (‘The Spring’s Kidnapping’), Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Children’s Story Award, Barcelona, 1999. For this work he was also awarded the IBBY Honour List in 2002.
At the moment, he is working as a freelance illustrator and as an editor in Editorial Casals, where he coordinates the Arts, Technical Drawing and Art History areas as well as being in charge of the Artistic Direction of the publishing house.
